Selfie 2019

I am originally from the Philippines and went to art college at Otis Parsons in Los Angeles and Parsons in Paris where I finished with a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration/Graphic Design. I currently live and work in Edinburgh where I completed the Figurative course at Leith School of Art in 2017.  I am currently working on an exploration of the Baroque period with particular attention to colour palette and tenebrism while listening to the music of Indochine.

My work includes figure studies, portraits and still life paintings worked in oil or watercolour. I also do commissioned dog portraits in oil. My work has a slow meditative quality with passages of restless brushwork with dramatic use of colour and light. I currently exhibit with the Nak.Ed.Art collective – a group of artists from the Saturday Life Drawing sessions at Leith School of Art.
