Originally from the Philippines, I went to Otis Parsons in Los Angeles and Parsons in Paris where I finished with a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration/Graphic Design in 1989. In 2017 I completed the Figurative course at Leith School of Art in Edinburgh where I currently live and work.
My work includes floral paintings, portraits or people and pets as well as still life paintings. I work in oil and sometimes in watercolour. My paintings have a slow, meditative quality with passages of restless brushwork with dramatic use of colour and light. I am currently working on an exploration of the Baroque period with particular attention to colour palette and tenebrism.
I have exhibited in several group exhibitions in Edinburgh, the most recent a show of floral artwork – Florescence- in August 2021.
